OK, I'll say up front that I didn't vote for Obama. But, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he'll be great....we shall see.
One thing he could do that would greatly impress me would be to tell the American people that it's time to let go of the hyphenated American terminology and just be Americans. I think that as long as we think of ourselves as African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Asian-Americans, or Whatever-Americans, that we foster divisions between us by emphasizing our differences instead of our commonalities. I'm of Canadian descent, but I don't think of myself as a Canadian-American. It's time for us all to put away these designations and just be Americans. Thanks.

Face it, our super power status is waning. The cold, stark reality is its a new world order. The next president is a done deal, so shouldn't we all come together now? If I'm correct, this was said about JFK by a Conservative Nixon voter:
"I didn't vote for him but he's my president, and I hope he does a good job."
