I cant help but point out the Divine irony of McCain appointing to his vp position a woman (bypassing the obvious he-man macho not in this mans army jokes) who is simultaneously under Senate investigation for abuse of power in her home state, suing the US government, and apparently an awful Christian Conservative as her unwed teenage daughter is 5 months preggers.

Now we just have to wait and see what Rove is gonna dredge up to try and deflect this shit storm. Oh, wait... According to the McCain camp this is all a plot thought up by Obama and his camp.

And whats the Christian Right think of this news?

First, please learn some fucking punctuation. It's, they're, you'r, he's, they've. The apostrophe is a wonderful thing. Love the contractions, but please use them wisely and correctly.

Second; I've done some research on this, and as for the babies going to hell thing; no they don't. This would be considered the sin of the parents, not the child. Remember the old phrase 'the sins of the father'? Besides if you're going by Christian Dogma, than because this was part of the old covenant, that particular curse was nailed to the cross along with a poor carpenter.

But I do agree with your general indictment of the hypocrisy and irony of this whole situation.

I guess the baby that Bristol Palin is carrying can at least be thankful that he is in the Palin family instead of the Obama family. Otherwise, he'd find his short life ending in some abortion clinic. Remember that Barack said that if one of his daughters made a mistake that he wouldn't want her "Punished with a baby".

This kind of thing happens in thousands of American families every year, high or low, good or bad, religious or atheist, Republican or Democrat.
It's what happens next that matters.

Poor choice of words. He should not have said it. I think he was making a case for comprehensive Sex Education (including abstinence).

He's good at giving speeches (for which he has time to prepare), but when it comes to debating (answering questions he has not had time to prepare for) he is pretty awful.
